The Fanes TirolWool® Celliant® Hoody is a warm, yet lightweight, wool blend fleece hoody that combines cutting-edge performance textiles with traditional alpine heritage. Fleece hoodies have been a standard part of every self-respecting mountaineer’s wardrobe since the 1980s. As part of our TirolWool® Celliant® technology platform, we developed a hybrid wool yarn that made it possible to spin TirolWool® fibres together with fine merino and Celliant® recycled polyester to make a new generation of hybrid wool melange fleece. This unique material is made in Italy. Wool is the ideal alpine insulation material – its fine crimped fibres let your skin breathe, yet trap warm air and absorb moisture inside their hollow cores to act as a buffer between your skin and your clothes. By blending wool with synthetic fibres, we can also offer improved durability, elasticity and faster drying times, while retaining wool’s proven odour-inhibiting characteristics. Thermo-reactive Celliant® minerals absorb heat emitted by the body and convert it into infrared radiation, which is stored and reflected back – helping you to maintain your optimum body temperature for longer. Further features include a tailored hood, flat-lock seams to reduce bulk and minimize chafing, lightweight elasticated cuffs and a stretch binding hem to seal in warmth.
